or even

is more easily readable because all the download links are grouped together
and you can easily see the right one from the OS-icons....

maybe choose one version as the default download, e.g.
SuperCollider-With-Extras, which is what an average user will download, and
put the vanilla SC3, SC-realized, SC-sourcecode etc. more down in the
document.

maybe the download page could suggest a proper version automatically,
determining the user's operating system. like

http://www.firefox.com  ---> big one click button

or at least very easily accessible, like

?

furthermore, since it is quite an effort to access it from the sourceforge
project page, i think there should also be a button for the 3.3 RC ?

Hi all -

The downloads webpage is rubbish.

Really need to simplify it and make it easy to use. Would be grateful
for your suggestions. Which things on that page should be removed?
Which should be emphasised? Removing things is quite important I
think, cutting down on the clutter.

Perhaps there should be separate webpages for each platform:
"downloads/mac", "downloads/linux", "downloads/win"? That might make
things more pleasant. But then there are miscellaneous things which
might not fit that subdivision. (freebsd? ;)

Thanks
Dan
