Hello,
Just giving everyone an update on the Software Freedom Day 2009 Philippines.
It's a bit early to confirm anything, but updates like this might
motivate other members into contributing their free time and talents to
the cause. Besides, the groups mentioned below needs your help into
making this event a success.
*GMA - Computer Professionals Union*
CPU held a planning session[1] at the KUBO, Quezon City last June 20.
Follow-up discussion's documented on their Google Groups[2]
*Zamboanga, Mindanao*
RJ Ian Sevilla, CPU and an Ubuntu-PH member, is organizing SFD2009
Zamboanga[3]. It'll be held at STI College. Jaunty CDs from the LoCo
pack would be mailed and, pending approval, Shipit Conference Package
would also be delivered.
*Baguio City*
With support from friends and volunteers, I'm organizing SFD2009
Baguio[4]. I've registered Ubuntu-PH as the group organizing this event
and requested SFD Team Pack. Jaunty CDs would be distributed and, also
pending approval, SFD giveaways.
If you're anywhere near the said areas and would like to participate,
please don't hesitate to contact the team leaders CC'd on this email.
And if you wish to organize your own party, please read the SFD Start
Guide[5].
Good luck to everyone participating and organizing this event!
