Absolutely. And yes, dumping openssl does seem like a very reasonable,
if unfortunately draconian solution. License proliferation is at least
moderately evil, and of course it is self-inflicted evil in the open
source world where the whole POINT of having open sources is to not have
to screw around with this sort of crap.
I'm not suggesting that it should be taken lightly or anything like
that. I really did just want to know how it worked, because it seems
relevant to people like e.g. Chris Walter or Sean who've been hacking on
vpnc. One wonders if the nss_compat_ossl package might not let vpnc
just rebuild and work. But not enough for one to work on it, at least
if one is me. Too much to do, short spring break to do it all, and I've
already wasted SO much time on this in the last eighteen hours.
I should never rant. There is just no point to it.
