How to don't allow to remove any signatures from the signed PDF

Hi All,
After signing the PDF, my signatures can be removed from PDF file (a signed field is selected, and the delete key was pressed).
If you can, please help me know the way that any user can't remove the signature fields from the PDF file.

Thanks,
Tuan

I wonder if there is any easy way of removing a PDF signature while keeping the rest of the document intact.

thanx in advance.

I'm more than a little suspicious as to why you'd ask.  Would you care to explain what it is you're doing in more detail?

>I'm more than a little suspicious as to why you'd ask.  Would you care to explain what it is you're doing in more detail?

Absolutely!

I'm working with a conceptual work-flow system where indivual sumbissions are signed
unsing locally known PKIs (employee-certs).  These submissions are achieved.

After that the signature is removed and placed by a visual indication that the signature
and certificate was indeed checked by the work-flow app at a specific time.

Next the submission is put in a PDF container document which is signed by
the workflow engine and uses a PKI that is on legal-entity level only.
Such PKIs can be created with relative ease like SSL PKIs making trust
establishment easier.

Now the submission can (if so is required) be transmitted to a larger audience
through the workflow system.

By removing the local PKIs, you don't get warnings and such which effectively
*reduces* the trust in a document compared to an unsigned ditto :-|

Enclosed is such an example which though still has the client signature...

If that's the case, then just remove the Signature's entry
from the /Annot and /Widget arrays in the PDF structure.   And put in
whatever new stuff you want...

thank you, I will try this although I'm not an expert in the PDF format.

Hi Paulo,
Thanks for your solution. I'm wondering it's the only way to do this? I have seen the PDF file which isn't encrypted that we can't remove the signture field from the document.
Attached with this mail is a PDF file which is found from itext mailing list.
Can you tell me why?

Thanks,
Tuan
