I am interested in Coyners25 post as I also have a Rackspace Cloud Files account (not a dedicated server yet; what do you think about Cloud server usage Coyners25 regarding RED5? Is that sufficient instead of a dedicated server and does it provide -- although I've not looked into this yet -- what I presume is a Java based Red5 server?).  Right now I'm on a very reliable (not by choice) Microsoft Windows Server but I don't like the fact that they won't allow Java.  Nevertheless, the Team at this Gold Certified Provider is so reliable and professional I'm reluctant to leave them.

I've moved to Cloud Server just now because with Cloud Files we cant play flv files through another domain. if we have better streaming then we will probably stick with it. I would however like to know whats the difference between Red5 and Adobe Falsh Streaming Server in terms of quality of video.
Our main issue is with the streaming quality is poor in certain areas. our server is in texas and have had excellant reports back from Arizona. Also tested in spain and video was very jumpy. Other videos sites streamed with no problems!!

Surely Rackspace can provide some way to put in a crossdomains.xml
support for Cloud Files (if that's the problem).

I have a C# Project for interfacing to the Cloud Files API, but I'm
unsure if I could find a work-around for Flash Player's requirements
for domain authorization privileges.

Again, if that's the problem, have you tried asking them if there is a
way to add crossdomains.xml somwhere on the Cloud Files host(s) in
their CDN?
