Reducing jboss-svn-commits message size to 250kB.Hello all,
There was a request from David, to reduce message size coming to jboss-svn-commits email list to 250kB. Messages exceeding this limit will be rejected. Does anyone have any objection to this? _______________________________________________ jboss-development mailing list jboss-development@... https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-development |

Re: Reducing jboss-svn-commits message size to 250kB.If they could be truncated somehow, that would be better

Re: Reducing jboss-svn-commits message size to 250kB.And while we're at it, could we have,
something that I've asked for a long time ago, a split between cvs, svn and what goes into our maven repo. (OK, cvs and svn are both svn, but they are diff mls) Since it's almost impossible to follow things when there is a release with more than one component going on. e.g. recent gatein had a flood of components Kabir Khan wrote: > If they could be truncated somehow, that would be better > On 22 Oct 2009, at 18:41, Dmytro Lisnichenko wrote: > >> Hello all, >> >> There was a request from David, to reduce message size coming to >> jboss-svn-commits email list to 250kB. Re: Reducing jboss-svn-commits message size to 250kB.What's the reason to reject the large messages? For filtering spam?
I agree with Ales that I would like to see a separation between regular svn commits and commits to repository.jboss.org. Re: Reducing jboss-svn-commits message size to 250kB.The specific impetus was the slew of mutli-megabyte commits by the ESB
team, but the repository emails also tend to be large from time to time (though this only happens when a JAR is uploaded in text format - something that is still surprisingly common even yet). Figuring out the deal with the CVS vs SVN lists would be nice. The only reason that rejection is the proposed policy is because that's the only one which can be implemented without any development work. And currently, development + eng-ops = never gonna get done, so it's this or nothing. - DML On 10/23/2009 08:40 AM, Paul Gier wrote: > What's the reason to reject the large messages?
