Reindexing documents with a batch process

My question is quite simple but I don't find the answer by myself.
Is it possible to rebuild the index using batch (script on linux for
example) ?

You can use curl/wget on the JMX console to restart indexing.
You'll need the JMX credentials (see myconfig.xml) and you'll need to
make sure you can contact the JMX service
(I believe it listens to localhost only by default)
