Release of RebeccaAIML 1.1tp1 (Slatter) and Eclipse AIMLEditor plugin-----------
Please update your project details on your websites of RebeccaAIML to: RebeccaAIML is an enterprise cross platform open source AIML development platform. RebeccaAIML supports C++, Java, C#, and Python as well as many other programming languages and AIML development out of the box. RebeccaAIML also comes with an array of AIML administration tools, great documentation, and an eclipse AIML editor plugin. ----------- Announcing the tech preview release of RebeccaAIML and an Eclipse AIMLEditor plugin: Check out the main page: http://rebecca-aiml.sourceforge.net/index.htm Check out the user guide for plenty of screen shots of this new tech release: http://rebecca-aiml.sourceforge.net/userGuide.htm And finally, download it and give it a try: http://rebecca-aiml.sourceforge.net/download.htm ----------- This tech preview is only available under Windows. The next few releases might also only be previews. The Linux version is in the works. After tech preview(s) there will be beta(s). After that, there will be 0 or more release candidates. After that (finally!), there will be a full release. But don't let the label tech preview discourage you. This tech preview is 98% feature complete and quite stable. It is just labeled tech preview until I can get Linux compiled versions released and feed back from members of the community about it and any mistakes on my end. ----------- The latest features that should hopefully have made any waiting worth while: * License change. It is dual licensed under either GPLv3 or commercial. Contact me if you want to develop AIML applications commercially, otherwise feel free to develop using the GPLv3 license. * An Eclipse plugin which integrates AIML editing and querying of the bot together with Eclipse as an AIML editor. Hopefully this will become your AIML editor of choice. It is the only open source one that I know of. * Embedded Database. You can now have an infinite number of bots, users, and end users loaded at any given time. You're only constrained by the amount of disk space you have on your hard drive. * Smart and configurable memory. Utilizing the embedded database tools you can configure how much memory RebeccaAIML will use for caching and how much to keep on the disk as well as fine tune her throughput from a small machine to a large rack server. * Restart times under 1 second regardless of the number of bots, users, and end users you have. * Support for multiple users, bots, and end users. As many users as you want. The users can have as many bots as they want. The bots can have as many end users as they want. * Native language support for a multitude of programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, and Python as well as great documentation for how to develop in a few lines of code AIML applications for each language. * Includes command line tools to access and manipulate the AIML embedded database. You can literally use the rs-admin command line to do everything that any of the programming languages can do. See the user guide for a whole scenario section on using rs-admin and how truly powerful it is. * Safe multi-threading, and multi-process support. You can use multiple threads in your programming and multiple OS processes to access the AIML. * Server and client model included. RebeccaAIML starts as a service and runs as a server in the background waiting for queries. You can have one server on one machine and multiple clients contacting the server in an environment if you wanted to. * A windows installer which makes installation just a few clicks * Several other features and improvements and lots of bug fixes. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation?
