I know there is interest in getting the Windows binary current, and it sounds like a few attempts are being made - is anyone coordinating that? I had been using the
0.8.5.14 release for a while, but wanted to take advantage of the latest features, so I downloaded the current code and compiled it. FYI, I am using the following tools:
cvsnt-2.5.03.2382
gtk-2.10.11-win32-1
ActivePython-2.5.1.1-win32-x86
pygtk-2.10.4-1.win32-py2.5
pycairo-1.2.6-1.win32-py2.5
PIL-1.1.6.win32-py2.5
win32-dlls-py25
Reportlab_2_1
pysqlite-2.3.3.win32-py2.5
pywin32-210.win32-py2.5
pygobject-2.12.3.1.win32-py2.5
pyRTF-0.45
When I downloaded the latest code, it compiled fine, and only needed one change to run - the version string in version.py had to be changed from "
0.14.0-beta" to "0.14.0.beta" because the parser couldn't convert 0-beta to an int.
If there's interest, I'll build an executable so it can be tested. I've found a few things that will kill python (the about box, for example), but nothing major.
Where should I go from here?
