Remote Starter problem

I have an EF3000iSE that I installed a wireless remote starter kit on about 1 1/2 years ago. It's worked flawlessly up until last weekend when I couldn't get the key fob to start the generator.  I replaced the batter and reprogrammed both the fob and the receiver according to instructions I found online.  Still nothing....  Any suggestions before I spend another $90 on a new fob?  There are no dealers in Reno that carry generator parts or have a lot of experience with generators in general.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.
