Hi Developers,

I would like to ask if it's possible to remove a digital signature from a signed PDF?
The reason about: we store the signed document and later - if somebody wishes the original doc - strip down the signed document.

thanks in advance

Matthew

It depends on the required strip level. The simplest way is to go to the signature field and delete the value and the appearance. You'll be left with an empty signature.

         Sure.

Since a signed document is the original + a signature, why
strip it?  Or are these visible signatures and not just signed docs?

Hi,

hm, I really want to strip it of the document.
The problem is: the customer want a digital signatur (which works great with your library - many many thanks to you) and want to store the signed document.
The document gets stored in a database. But there are some needs to get the original document back.
So my question is: can I strip off anything from the PDF so it looks like the original document (before it was signed)?

Thanks in advance for your quick answers

Technically, yes - it is possible.

There are, however, NO tools currently available that offer
that functionality.  It would require a fairly detailed development
project - since it involves knowing what gets done during signing and
therefore is safe to remove.   And doing so.

Network Question

Has anyone ever experienced issues when trying to use
iText on a server in a DMZ not part of a domain?

How did you resolve it?

What steps might be taken to determine what the
Network (permissions/issues) are or should be?

Thanks for any thought's and help.

Brian
