I have just finished reading "Dr. Eckeners Dream Machine" by Douglas Botting. This wonderful book is a history of the golden age of Zeppelins and focuses on the greatest airship Captain of all time : Dr. Hugo Eckener.
A sailor first and Zeppelin pilot in later life he circumnavigated the globe in the Graf Zeppelin. Did you know that lighter than air craft were the first to circle the Earth? Well...read this book and learn much more about the history of the craft that are the future of air travel!
