Resend Mail when recipient bccI found an incorrectly rejected message from a yahoogroups.com group.
No big deal, I went to resend it using the admin interface. I got the message: !!! no or no local addresses found in TO: and FROM: header line - please check !!! The problem is that our local recipient was bcc'ed by the list software and doesn't appear anywhere in the headers. Of course, this causes a problem. Is there a way we can fix this? Thoughts: If the request is from the admin interface (or an admin block report), put another get field in the web request like recip=whatever@...? I presume that this happens with an emailed in request from a user too. Might we be able to put the original recipient's address in the mailto? Might another option be to use the message id somehow? Re: Resend Mail when recipient bccRight, but that was only a single example. There's plenty of other
cases where a message, from a regular user not a list, is bcc'ed to a person and it happens to be incorrectly flagged as spam. Re: Antwort: Resend Mail when recipient bccThis sounds promising, what do you mean by "put in the correct recipient?"
Also, what happens if a regular user clicks the resend icon from the email? It'll basically do nothing right? Re: Antwort: Re: Antwort: Resend Mail when recipient bcc> no comment !!
I'm sorry, I'm not understanding. Please, can you tell me what you mean by putting in the correct recipient? I'm not an idiot, I just don't have a clue as to what (or where) you're talking about entering the recipient address. > regular users are recipients (not bcc/cc), if they are able to click resend. As a test, I generated a report for the example yahoogroup email and sent the recipients (a non-admin). I accessed that account as that user and I do have a resend link in the email. The recipient is not listed in to or cc. It's a bcc, so I presume that won't work. Re: Antwort: Re: Antwort: Re: Antwort: Resend Mail when recipient bccAh ha! Now I see why you said no comment. I just never knew that you
could edit mail files and save them like that with the interface. Clever as always. And also on the admin request vs. user request, well thought out. PROBLEM SOLVED. Thanks for the patience and explanation. When they decide to make weeks be 9 days long with 4 day weekends, I'll have some free time and help to document everything for this project.
