Reset Console Data in 3.2

Hi,

it looks like in 3.2 you can no longer reset the console data/statistics. Is that true or is there a better work-around than restarting the console?

Thanks,
Juergen

Nothing's changed here. Perhaps you should set "Reset Console with
Worker Processes" in the console options.

Maybe the change was before 3.2. But I think you could press a button and all values were zero again.
This was useful, if you wanted to start with fresh values in the middle of a test run.

Thanks,
Juergen

This still works for me, in 3.2.  The button is "Waiting for samples".

You can achieve that by stopping and restarting the recording. This will
zero the values, but not do a full reset of the console - i.e. not
discard the list of tests.

Yes, that was what I meant.

But when I click "Stop collecting statistics" and then "Start collecting statistics" the numbers stay the same, they don't zero on stop.

Weird.  Are you quoting the words "Stop collecting statistics" and
"Start collecting statistics" exactly?  I'm using 3.2, and the words I
see under the Action menu are different: "Stop collection" and "Start
collection".  These map to the button "Waiting for samples"/"Collecting
samples"/"Collection stopped", and they do zeroize the stats for me.

Hi,

to resume the subject after a long time:

I got 3.2  action -> Stop collection
After clicking this there is action -> Collect statistics

Afterwards "collecting Samples" on the left side goes to zero, but not the test TPS, ... on the right side which I'd like to have to go to zero, too.

Thanks,
Juergen

The big TPS statistic in the middle of the left-hand pane records the
TPS for the most-recent sample (details of which are given in the bottom
table of the right-hand pane).  That gets updated every sample-period.
I agree, that doesn't get zeroized when performing the actions you're
talking about here.  I suppose it could be zeroized as you suggest; but
there's nothing confusing about that, I prefer it the way it is, and
it's a minor issue in any case.

The important thing is that the cumulative stats (top table of the
right-hand pane, the "total" line of which is also reflected in the
wording beside the little graph at the bottom of the left-hand pane)
gets zeroized.  That's what I thought you referring to all along.  That
does work for you, right?

In the properties file, there is a property for the # of threads
(grinder.threads).  Is it possible to get the value of this property

No, I meant the values on the Graphs tab.

Anyway, I changed my test to a multi-request HTTP test. Now the numbers are zeroed.
When the test only consisted of a single HTTP request they were not.

Hi,

to resume the subject after a long time:

I got 3.2  action -> Stop collection
After clicking this there is action -> Collect statistics

Afterwards "collecting Samples" on the left side goes to zero, but not
the
test TPS, ... on the right side which I'd like to have to go to zero,
too.

Thanks,
Juergen
