Results of a large QIF import to kmymoney2

I recently imported about 15 years of data from Quicken to kmymoney2.
Here are the problems and workarounds I discovered.

-=-

Problem: broken import code
Fix: Use v1.02!

I could not import into the initial version in my Linux distribution's
repository (0.8.8) *at all* - the import process could not parse the
file very well, and required me to setup a custom import filter.

The developers made significant improvements to the import process, so
it was easily usable in v0.9.9.  I succeeded with the basic import
process using that version, and repeated the process using 1.0.0.

-=-

Problem: erroneous transfers between accounts
Fix: check your classes

Quicken uses categories (like Groceries, or Medical:Dentist), as well as
classes (essentially tags, like Groceries/breakfast).  KMM does *not*
use classes, and simply appends them to the category
(Groceries/breakfast becomes a separate category from Groceries).

If a transfer between accounts had a class attached, kmm would treat the
transfer erroneously, which rendered the source and destination account
balances incorrect.

I solved this by finding these transaction (luckily just a few) and
removing their classes, putting that info into the memo field.

-=-

Problem: starting account date and transaction not saved properly
Fix: use v1.02!

I had a very annoying problem with (I think) v1.0.0 about adding the
opening balance transaction for an account, setting it to the earliest
date for that account, and then having the transaction show up as
today's date, or not being saved at all.  This was fixed by v1.0.2.

-=-

The end result is that I have a large number of transactions,
essentially my complete electronic financial history, in kmm, and it
works great.

I hope these notes and workarounds helps others who need to import
existing data.

Thank you **very much** to the developers, testers, packagers and fellow
users for this very useful software.
