I understand, during yesterday's conversation between yourself and David, it was agreed upon that he would contact me and inquire in regards to when I would be available to meet with you and He (again) to discuss the Owens and Minor issue which we had previously discussed some weeks ago.  David indicated you had conveyed some confusion in regards to this issue.  As I have left messages for you during the past few weeks, I am again requesting for you to contact me so that any confusion may be clarified as efficiently as possible.  I simply want to know, what, if anything, OPEIU Local 30 will do to address the issue of the Owens and Minor vendor arrangement which has resulted in the elimination of some OPEIU Local 30 bargaining unit work and the loss of some full-time OPEIU Local 30 Member's positions (i.e. within the Trade Street warehouse).  During the previous meeting at which David K., John Larson, yourself and I were in attendance these concerns were discussed and you committed to looking into the matter and responding to the concerns.  You have not yet done this.  Please do so or provide me the opportunity to address any possible confusions which may exist.  To reiterate, I am requesting you to let me know what, if anything, OPEIU Local 30 will support in regards to adressing the issue of Owens and Minor performing our bargaining unit work (i.e. grievance support up to and through arbitration or will our Union quit by Step 4 of the procedure?).

MaryEllen,

Because we have already held a lengthy meeting a few weeks ago in regards to this and, as time if valuable to all of us, I believe it would be more efficient to discuss any misunderstandings over the phone. I am not opposed to being involved in an additional meeting later, however, I do not believe having a redundant meeting would be beneficial for anyone. Please either reply via email or phone, as I have requested, in regards to OPEIU Local 30's intentions in relation to the Owens and Minor subcontracting practice. I am very interested in learning if, how and why the areas within our National Agreement and Local contract as they pertain to subcontracting (i.e. National Agreement "Exhibit 1.K.4" entitled the "MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING SUB-CONTRACTING") are not being applied by our Union in instances such as when Owens and Minor is performing OPEIU Local 30 Member work as well as if and when our Union will address this issue.
