Rialto with Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2???

Hello Guys,

I've tried to use the Rialto TagLib (
http://rialto.improve-technologies.com/wiki/taglib), but i did not succeed!
I have tomcat 4.1, which covers Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2. So i think this
might be the problem, but i'm not sure about it.

I looked at the rialto's docs but i didn't find anything about the
pre-requirements to run it successfully.

Does anybody know about it?

Re: Combo not writable, in ie

I found out the problem : 2 events were raised when i pressed a key.
On key press, The combo returned false, while the form returned true (because the key pressed was not Enter).

I have to find a way to raise only one event on key press, in this case. Any suggests?

It is true that the setName method doesn't change the html name.
One solution is to set the dataname property of the widget and then add the element in the form using the addElement method. The widget doesn't need to be a child of the form.
Then even if you change the name or the dataname (dataname is first check) the modification will be use in the request.

Rename a widget in a form

I've got a problem with the setName function.
This function change the name of a widget only on the javascript side not on the html/Dom side.
So, when i rename my widgets in my form, the parameter's names submitted at the server are the old names of the widgets. Not what i want.

For now, i made my own request by bypasssing the Rialto's buildQueryString function, but it would be better to not do this and have the same name at the both side (javascript/html).

you are true. it seems to bug with firefox. But it is still working on IE. I will have aa look on it.

It allow you to reload the GUI you were working on.

In the download rialtoStudio folder there is a rialto.xsd file

You also have a XSL folder that contain XSL

In this same folder there is an XSL folder that contain xsl file.
Those xsl allow you to parse the rialto xml meta dat to make an php, jsf or jsp translation (even if the php and jsf are not more supported in the rialto project). You better have to see them as an exemple.

In fact the rialtoStudio that you get on the site (http://rialto.improve-technologies.com/wiki/rialtostudio/download) contain everything you need to use it. Just unzip it where ever you want and open the index.html

By the way it has been made with an older version of Rialto and it is not up to date. But the generate code is almost the same.

I have downloaded Rialto and put on my webserver, and made the
tutorial (it works!!), but now I want to make a simple web page/application
with a header, content, footer, and insider the content put a simple form to
send comments to my db mysql (this is my first step/goal).. ..

1) there is some tutotial/example for this?

I have tried with make a empty file.xml, and save on it but nothing, when i click the button nothing happen

highly populated grids are slow

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering some performance problems with the following code.
I seems to be due to:
*the amount of data in the grid object
*and the setVisible calls

To reproduce the problem, please do the following steps:
1-make sure 'folder2' is the active folder (it should be the active folder on reload)
2-click on node1
3-click on node2
4-click on node3 ** at this point the grid is populated with 700 entries **
5-click on node2 --> problem : it takes up to 10 seconds on my computer to switch back to node2

If you try the same operations on the 'folder1' tab, switching back from node3 to node2 takes less than a second (the amount of data is the same)

I profiled these operations through the FireBug profiler. It seems that the functions getBorderTopWidth, getBorderLeftWidth, updateSize and getHeightInDoct take more than 90% of elapsed time.
