So, I drove up to PHX with my buddy Chad Woolley (geminstaller -
http://geminstaller.rubyforge.org/)
to attend the most recent Ruby Users Anonymous meeting.
Interesting - it was held at RisingTideSoftware.com's homebase - these
guys host the main Ruby RDocs.
A couple of things I took away.
*RSpec is much better than Test::Unit - even tho it is kinda immature
still.
*There's some really cool stuff going on with JRuby, Google for
"monkeybars ruby".
*Not too many folks earning a living off of Rails - a few but not as
many as I'd like to imagine.
*I need to learn how to debug with ruby-debug.
*Screencasts are Ruby's de facto documentation
*For every rVooz idea - there's a shitload of pointless RoR experiments.
