SIGSEGV Error on connecting MTP Player

I have a Creative Zen: Vision M.  Banshee behaves normally until I plug it in, then I get a crash to desktop with the following:

#24 0x0809cb76 in mono_runtime_exec_main ()
#25 0x0809d19b in mono_runtime_run_main ()
#26 0x0805af2e in mono_main ()
#27 0x0805a432 in ?? ()
#28 0xb7d80685 in __libc_start_main () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6
#29 0x0805a371 in ?? ()
#0  0xb8002430 in __kernel_vsyscall ()

Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application.

Aborted

Running Intrepid Ibex.

Any ideas appreciated.

It's an old bug. Upgrade Banshee.

I am having the same problem with my Creative Zen. I am running Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 and banshee 1.4.1. Amarok works fine, but I need Banshee for adding Video.

I did the same -- reformat, update/reload firmware.  Now Banshee doesn't crash and my Zen shows up when I plug it in.  Thanks for the help.

Which model player and which firmware are you using?

I have a Zen Vision:M 30Gb, running the 1.62.02 firmware - which according to the creative page here is the latest version.

No Zen Banshee for me at the moment :(

Sorry to bump this, but I have the same problem...

Running the latest Banshee 1.5.1 (from ppa)
Ubuntu 9.04 Intrepid
Latest firmware on Creative Zen Vision: M

The problem isn't the connecting of the MTP player, it's when songs are added to the player.  It can add individual songs but when I try to add a group it will crash with the "Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code" error.  The number of songs that it needs to crash vary as the songs that it crashes at.  Sometimes it will crash for a song and other times it will be fine.  I have reinstalled everything that I could think of; libmtp, banshee, gstreamer, mono-runtime.
I even removed the banshee config files (./config/banshee-1), as I saw suggested elsewhere, but the problem remains.

This error also appears at the start of any music being uploaded:

[Debug 11:49:03.966] GStreamer pipeline does not run: audioconvert ! xingenc bitrate=128 ! id3v2mux
[Debug 11:49:03.994] GStreamer pipeline does not run: audioconvert ! fluwmaenc bitrate=64000 vbr=false ! fluasfmux

Is this a problem with gstreamer?  As far as I know I have the latest version of good, bad, and ugly.  I couldn't find out exactly what I need for gstreamer to work, there are so many entries in the repository.

Any ideas?

I can post more code if necessary.
Can someone tell me how to do a cut?  I'm not so good at this forum thing.
