Longwell 404 error

I get a 404 error when I try to access Longwell.

I'm running it with this command:

longwell /r pizza.owl

I know it's loading the pizza.owl file (as well as others) and the Jetty server is active (this is evident from the output in the command line window). It's waiting on port 8080 (I've not changed any default configurations).

Yet, when I enter http://127.0.0.1:8080/ all I get is "Not_Found" from Jetty.

I do get a class not found error for the class LogFactory when I run Longwell. Could this be causing the file not found error? If not, then what?

Hi,

I tried to get source(raw_page) of multiple websites using Crowbar, but crowbar didn't return me correct source.
It returned correct source of only one site.
for other sites, it didn't execute javascript embedded in sites.

Sites I tried are:

Hello,

when I switch folders or restart Thunderbird its always required to
rebuild the index. I am using IMAP and have some huge folders where
indexing takes very long. Is there no way to cache the index or rebuild
in background?

Hi,

Can I execute multiple crowbar instance, each as a separate process with different port number?
I tried following,

MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 xulrunner application.ini --port=45333
MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 xulrunner application.ini --port=53444

and
xulrunner application.ini --port=45333 -no-remote
xulrunner application.ini --port=53444 -no-remote

but it didn't work.
it's, giving a pop-up window with message:
"Crowbar is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Crowbar process, or restart your system."

Is there any solution?

But still I am facing problem..
I am using Linux.

In one terminal tab I executed:
MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 xulrunner application.ini --port=45333

Now when in another terminal tab I am trying to execute,
MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 xulrunner application.ini --port=53444

it's, giving a pop-up window with message:
"Crowbar is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Crowbar process, or restart your system."

Do we have any solution?
Is there any way to get multiple process of crowbar using different port no.?

Problem with google Maps and Simile | The white Box is too small

Hi @ all,

I have the following problem:
I want to use simile with google maps. So i wrote an js-library, and it works. The only Problem is, I have quite a lot of information for each location, so that the white box, which opens, if you click one location, is too small. Half of the text "falls" out of the box, und it's difficult to read the text, if there is the map as background, instead of a white box. Do you know, which file is responsible for creating this white box? Can I edit this file, so that the box becomes bigger?

Hi Wade, my eye twitched also when I saw the period at the end of the file. I suppose it is possible that the validator ignored everything after the last closing brace. Easy enough to test.

Kiran,

I assume when you say "MIT SIMILE", you are referring to the SIMILE Exhibit project. The open-source community this project was migrated to can be found here:

http://www.simile-widgets.org/exhibit/

I suggest you look at the code that knits data into a Timeline or Google Maps. This will give you an idea of how easy/difficult it is to code _your_ integration. It's hard to answer your question without an idea of what the data looks like or what tool you want to use to create the heat-map. (The screenshot is of Microsoft Maps, but you didn't mention if that is your intended target.)

Is it feasible to create heat maps with SIMILE

Helo all,

I have a generic question. I see some widgets like timeline, exhibit avaiable with SIMILE. i was asked to generate a POC for heat map generation using MIT Simile. I do not seem to find enough information to strongly establish that it is possble through SIMILE. Since i am running out of time, i wanted assitance from u experts to help me uunderstand if this is possible . I have attached a sample heat map of swine flue for your reference.

tim, i'm cleaning old mail and stumbled across this. for famliy
history, you might want to take a look at this novel extension of exhibit:

they haven't released it back into the exhibit codebase (though I would
love them to) but you might be able to contact them about making use of
it on your site.

unknown content type when using Crowbar

Hi,

I am trying to access several pages using Crowbar. Everything works
fine except the pages that return
directly an executable (content type: "application/octet-stream"). In
that case, crowbar displays a pop-up
error message saying:

XML parsing error: undefined entity

Workshop Theme:

Use of semantic web protocols and technologies are increasing rapidly in
government and business, so they are affecting an ever-widening user
population on the web. Increasingly, web and data/archival management tools
are embedding RDF and linked data capabilities into their architectures, and
projects are overlaying standards-based ontologies to supplement older
proprietary vocabularies. However, the key question remains:
* What are the most effective ways to harness these capabilities to support
high quality user interaction by researchers and the public?

A case study provides a focal point for our day-long collaborative
discussion - it centers around the rapidly growing area of large-scale
electronic archives and library collections online
(http://swui.webscience.org/SWUI2009/archival-casestudy). This domain is
particularly rich to explore, as it offers highly heterogeneous data
sources, a wide mix of structured and unstructured data, diverse user
populations and goals, requirements for a range of query/search/retrieval
strategies, and unique needs for visualizing/rendering both results and
individual objects.

There is a lot of good, relevant research and new interaction techniques
inside and outside the linked data/semantic web community that can
contribute to this domain, and ultimately to many large, heterogeneous data
interaction domains.

Who should participate?

This workshop will be of interest to researchers and designers from a range
of disciplines, including:
* Semantic Web
* Linked Data
* Machine Learning
* NLP, concept and entity extraction, and linguistic analysis
* Search and indexing of structured and unstructured data,
images and multimedia
* Visualization
* Text entry, tagging and annotation

Participating in the Workshop:

A written research/position paper must be submitted and accepted to
participate in the workshop. The deadline for papers is August 17, 2009 (see
key dates, below). Because of the short review time for our PC, we would
really appreciate your submitting an abstract and your intention to submit
by Friday, August 7th. Papers do not need to be full length research papers
to be accepted - high quality ideas, contributions, and imagination are most
important.

For acceptance into the workshop, participant papers must contain:
* A summary of your related research/practice work, with examples
that describe unique aspects of your research and any tools or models you

are developing.
* Links to existing papers that describe your work in more
detail; for researchers doing newer or more exploratory work, a longer
paper describing new and unpublished work can also be accepted by the PC.

* Specific ideas on how your research is a "piece in the larger puzzle" that

contributes to improving the situation for users in the case study
problem
domain.

Position papers can be as short as 4 pages, and the maximum length for
research papers is 12 pages. Accepted papers are expected to be published to
the CEUR-WS website.

Workshop Format:

The workshop will feature collaborative activities to understand the
relationships between participants' work, in order to find points for
cross-fertilizing and extending future research. This will be a highly
interactive workshop! Some of the specific activities for the workshop will
be determined based on the participants and the research work they are
bringing to the event.

The workshop aims to produce a strong and detailed outline/extended abstract
on the UI challenges presented by the case study domain and the types of
approaches that apply - and hopefully by extension can benefit other large,
heterogeneous data domains. We will ask participants to continue
contributing to the outline, with the aim of publishing the workshop
outcomes as a paper or journal special edition.

Citeline does not import Bibtex libraries

Citeline seems like a great project (even before its days as Citeline)
but unfortunately I have never found a good way to make the required
Bibtex input. What is the best way of doing this. Perhaps someone can
help me if I describe what I have tried so far:

(1) Endnote --> Bibtex natively.

(2) Endnote --> Bibtex *but* used the recommendations on the Citeline Website
(a) Added random text to the label field of each Ref
(b) Modified the Bibtex export style in EN by removing the "|"
symbols around each year field.

(4) JabRef --> saves natively as .bib

Is Citeline finicky about a particular Bibtex format? I can believe
that EN produces ill formatted bibtex files but how can it be that all
these various independent components produce bad bibtex?

I could post my detailed errors if that helps (but anyways the online
errors produced by Citeline are somewhat minimalistic)

As a positive there was one method that *did* work! This was by using
the "save as bibtex" feature in Google Scholar. Unfortunately that
doesn't always work. The Citeline tool is beautiful but I wish it were
easier to feed data into it.

Or maybe I am just doing something wrong!

Any tips are greatly appreciated! What's the best way to convert say
a Scifinder / WebofScience search-generated list-of-refs into
something that Citeline will accept?

I believe it's better to use Art Timeline extension for Joomla 1.5 that has support included and has many more features like generating timelines and events from Joomla! articles and even from SQL query; several customizable properties, settings and styles. Just visit the site and have a look.
