SMTP to SOAP transformation

I am going to make a transformation from a SMTP format to a SOAP message.
Could you please propose a simple example that illustrates the way to make such transformer.
Could you please also propose documentations that may be helpful

Look at the SAAJ module on MuleForge, you'll find ready made SOAP transformers there.
