Hi there,

A potential client of mine has an SQL Server 2008, I was reading that it
doesn't support a spatial index.  What effect does this have on
performance, back-end or end-user experience?

Thanks,
Damian

It basically means it will perform horribly with any significant amount
of data :(. The datastore is really just a proof of concept at the
moment, spatial indexing is the last step in making it a production
ready data store. It is waiting for either a) someone to fund the work
or b) a devloper to show up an implement it.
