I would be interested in helping to contribute to agg.

First, let me verify that this is the current SVN:

http://agg.svn.sourceforge.net

Is SourceForge still really slow? I hosted some open source Digital Signal Processing code up there but it was so painful I had to move it to Google code. I notice that since then they have updated the site.

Second, how much has changed since the original reference release? Most of the files are 10 or 11 months old and from what I can tell there is only one small change to an enumeration in a header file (aside from changes in build scripts).

What is the process for getting write access to SVN? I have some things to contribute. First of all I have written an "XRGB" pixel format. This is a 4 byte per pixel format, but with the extra byte being unused (i.e. not used for alpha or anything else). This is handy if you want to draw directly to a 32-bit Windows DIB Section. A 32bpp format has certain memory alignment advantages over a 24bpp format especially when it comes to writing SSE optimized code.

Yes, as you may suspect my implmentation is fairly trivial it largely consisted of replacing '3' with '4' and some other very minor changes. However, it is fully functional, provided as an additional complement of templates to the existing templates, and fills a small niche.

The other work that I have done is in changing the font code to eliminate the bulk of the manager and cache so that typefaces can exist on their own, and that cached fonts can be directly manipulated by the host application. Its a radical change but as has been pointed out in other threads, we have all done similar work. Since I make pretty heavy use of fonts I don't mind helping to build out a new set of font classes that everyone is happy with.
