Search box not displayed

Hi,

I recently upgraded to 1.6.1 and enabled the SEARCHENGINE property, but no text box is displayed. However if I set GENERATE_TREEVIEW to YES it is displayed in the sidebar. We use a custom css and header and footer but even removing the header and footer and dropping down to the default css does not make it appear (I do not want to set GENERATE_TREEVIEW).

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Cheers,

James

Can anyone confirm whether this is/isn’t a problem? Is it working for anybody?

On our setup, we have the search engine turned on, no treeview, and
default css. However the text input box is misplaced. Intuitively you
want to put searches inside the box next to the search icon, but the
actual text input is below the search box. We found it effected both
firefox and IE.

FWIW, the search box seems to be working for me.  We use custom header and footers, which needed to be updated when moving to 1.6.1 or it didn't show... but once we re-gen'd the header .htm file, it started working.

Here's an example - see the search-as-you-type box in the top right corner:
