No Rose is still developed & sold by IBM in a
variety of versions under the Rational sub-brand. IBM has been buying out a
number of competitors in the space and keep adding to their line-up of modeling
and code-generation tools. Of course they're all priced around 2-3K
each.
UML too has come a long way after it's initial
consolidation of modeling methods. On the event-driven system modeling side of
things, it's latest V2.0 specification for State Machine design is a big
improvement. Still some incomplete parts of the spec., and some inconsistencies,
but not too difficult to firm up with a few constraints (as we've done with
MiceOnABeam).

Sounds good to me. I was always wary of code-generators until Rose came
along and the UML always seemed the best of the bunch when you needed something
pretty but incomprehensible (apart from me) to show the boss. Has Rose died
since IBM bought it, by the way? Worst company I ever worked for, bar
none.
