Setting up Cistron to auth my slipstream users.

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem setting up my server to auth my
slipstream users to use the service.

The information I was given was this:
The attribute is Slipstream-Auth 1 string.
The value must be set as "true".

I set up my Dictionary to $INCLUDE
dictionary.slipstream

and it that file I put in:
VENDOR Slipstream 23706
ATTRIBUTE Slipstream-Auth 1 string Slipstream

In my users file I added a test user like this:
testuser Auth-Type = Local, Password  "test"
Slipstream-Auth = "True"

When I try and start the server using this info I get
the error:
radiusd: /etc/raddb/users[2]: Parse error (check) for
entry Slipstream-Auth

I'm sure there is something I am doing incorrect but
not able to find the docs to show me.

Thanks,
Rich

If Slipstream-Auth is supposed to be a reply attribute, you're
missing a tab or space.

It should look like this:

testuser Auth-Type = Local, Password  "test"
                Slipstream-Auth = "True"

If you don't put the spaces in the parser assumes it's simply the
next entry, that's why it says 'Parse error (check)'

Thanks! That was the last thing on my mind. I did this
and now the server starts just fine with no errors.
Now when I test the user I set up in my server with
the Slipstream-Auth = "True" sting I get
unknown-vendor 23706, size 6=" in my attrib dump. Can
you offer a suggestion on where to go for this?

Thanks again,
Rich

I'm not sure what you mean with "attrib dump" ?

I'm using NTRadping (neat proggy if you have not used
it) to test the authentication on that server, it will
show if access is reject or accept then show the
attribs coming back for that username.

In that case, it means the client you use (ntradping)
doesn't know about that vendor or VSA, so it can't decode it.
