Hi,
openvrml has 3 RC bugs, 2 of which are due to build-deps that
disappeared since last time the package was uploaded. With the
upcoming/ongoing xulrunner transition, the packages its binaries depend
on don't exist anymore, so a binNMU wouldn't work.
There has been no maintainer upload in the last 15 months, despite
upstream having done several releases. It is also not in testing, and
was not shipped in lenny, apparently.
This looks like a good candidate for removal.
