Simple and "org.w3c.dom.Document", "Node" etc.

Hello together,

recently, we asked about the support for the org.w3c.dom.Document or
Node class, so we may use Simple XML to deserialize an object from an
existing Document tree, or serialize to a Document, a Node, a
DOMResult or something like that.

Any infos on that? May it be possible in future versions?

Thanks a lot

Best regards,
Timo Rumland

Hi,

Its actually very easy to do this, although it might take a bit of work. In simple the org.simpleframework.xml.stream package is basically a wrapper around StAX to give it a DOM like feel. In fact the original implementation of Simple XML used DOM. So you should find it very easy to wrap your DOM Document/Element in the OutputNode or InputNode. I may get around to doing this, but I don't think it will be soon. If you would like to do it yourself I don't think it would take you very long.
