I'm looking for a very simple, user-friendly software program that I can
upload some bus routes into and make them available to users online. I hoped
to use Google 'My Maps' as it performs the "auto-routing" for you. I have
all of the bus route stops in Lat/Long, and therefore uploaded some of the
routes into 'My Maps'. However, I quickly found that 'My Maps' is very weak
and non user-friendly in allowing a user to quickly turn on/off each of the
routes. In order for a user to turn on/off the various routes, he/she has to
click on a route, then click 'My Maps' every single time; and the routes are
listed as "multi-part" entities in the TOC based on each stop.
My client does not want to use a program that requires custom programming,
like the Google Maps API, however, I can't think of any other inexpensive
(or free) solution.
Do you have any other possible ideas/solutions?
