Slides...Can you guys take a quick peek at these slides and let me know if

Re: Slides...Looks good so far. Are you adding more? It seems to end kind of abruptly.

Re: Slides...Yeh, I'm gonna add a few more...
I'd like to mock up a C2, targeting kind of app. I think I can grad some screen shots of the Army's video game and integrate the CONOPS a little better. Just not sure it is worth it at this point. Re: Slides...I think the slides look good - but I have a some questions. I'd like to
get this incorporated into the Strike COI spiral 2 demos, but have three questions: 1. Are there C&A issues with REST? (copied Scott Holben for this one) 2. Similar concerns about the use of OpenFire 3. Have we looked at trying to connect to the Jabber part of Button 2 (DCO)? But, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by C&A. If you are pointing at "security" then yes their could be issues. It really depends on what the requirements are for access control, auditing, encryption, etc. We do have security implemented, but it is in generic Internet form (HTTP Basic Authentication) and not encrypted. This doesn't mean we can move forward with other mechanisms - we'd just need to know what the actual requirements are. Technically, ReST is determined not to be bound by security restraints ala WS-Security. That said it would be very difficult to manage different policies against a single ReST interface. Not that it couldn't be done - but, it would be something that not too many people, including the ReST experts would recommend. ReST is a true "web" scheme and harnesses the capabilities of the Internet as we know it today (caching). There's some interesting publications coming out now discussing resource-oriented/web-oriented architectures over SOA. Keep in mind that ReST makes no attempt at the ESB notion and other technologies like BPEL. > > 2. Similar concerns about the use of OpenFire We can look in to this if there is an issue. We've received approval from other projects (NetCDS I believe) to use OpenFire instead of JabberD. > > 3. Have we looked at trying to connect to the Jabber part of Button 2 > (DCO)? No we haven't. Again, not for any reason other than we had to pick a starting point and OpenFire was it (because it is Java-based and has an easy plugin architecture). Kit NOTE: I'll be posted the final version of the slides to the normal Internet locals (rvooz.org and slideshare.net) shortly. _______________________________________________ users mailing list users@... http://lists.rvooz.org/listinfo.cgi/users-rvooz.org |

Re: Slides...Hey Kit,
Overall really good. I still think this is absolutely the coolest project. Would love to see some traction. Anyway, If you are still looking for feedback on this deck I would look for ways to use more diagrams / pictures. Towards the end it gets to be a little bit death by powerpoint with lots of bullets.
