Software can not be uninstalled

Hi,

I'm pretty sure it's a noob question but I was unable to find an answer.

I installed a subversion package. SVN worked fine. Then I was trying to remove this package by:
"port uninstall subversion"

But then when I'm typing 'svn' on the command line, it still exists. The same holds for the libtool package for example.

So am I doing anything wrong, or is there a way to completely remove a package?
