This RPM include nagios 2.11 configuration files that already
configure for nagiosQL.

(A) Introduction

This RPM will help you to install NagiosQL 2.0.2. It's tested with
Centos 5.2 and should be working with Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise 5.
This RPM include nagios 2.11 configuration files that already
configure for nagiosQL.

NagiosQL is a web based administration tool for Nagios 2.x. It helps
you to easily build a complex configuration with all options, manage
and use them. NagiosQL is based on a webserver with PHP, MySQL and
file access to the Nagios configuration files.

(B) Prerequisites

We assume Linux Centos 5.2 already installed. The iso for CD and DVS
can be download here

The command

You need to install nagios 2.11 from rpmforge

Download RPM for nagios, nagios-devel, nagios-plugins, nagios-nrpe and
nagios-plugins.

yum localinstall is used to install a set of local rpm files. If
required the enabled repositories will be used to resolve dependencies.

We don't want to auto script it. We do not know your local php setting
and service httpd restart

You need to reset the admin password for nagios by this command

htpasswd /etc/nagios/htpasswd.users admin

To access nagios 2.10 from web browser type http://localhost/nagios
To access nagiosQL 2.0.2 from web browser type http://localhost/nagiosQL

WORKUM, The Netherlands -- Friday, February 8, 2008 -- The
ScriptumLibre.org Foundation issued a call today for a worldwide
boycott on Trend Micro products. The call comes as a response to the
public announcement on January 29th that a lawsuit was filed by Trend
Micro in November 2007, which claims that software-security company
Barracuda Networks is infringing its U.S.-patent on software that
filters out viruses on Internet gateway computers. The claim targets
the free and open source (FOSS) software program ClamAV (Clam
AntiVirus), and demands that Barracuda either cease distributing it
with their web filtering hardware and other products, or pay Trend
Micro a licensing fee.

Software vendors that hold software patents tend to wage a "cold war"
amongst each other, collecting patents and holding on to them for
defensive purposes. Rarely are suits filed against one another
aggressively. ScriptumLibre's chairman Wiebe van der Worp claims Trend
Micro's aggressive use of litigation to be "well beyond the borders of
decency," and points to the company's past history of "extorting
organizations such as Symantec and McAfee with similar threats of
litigation." However, there are deeper concerns echoed by van der
Worp, and others, in the threats this lawsuit holds toward others in
the FOSS community. Recognizing this threat, Barracuda CEO, Dean
Drako, in a statement to the FOSS community, writes, "Trend Micro's
actions illustrate that ClamAV and other open source projects remain
vulnerable to commercial patent holders attempting to unjustly hinder
the free and open source community."

As a result, many in the community are banding together, and offering
support towards Barracuda, such as Eben Moglen of the Software Freedom
Law Center, who has stated that the "Collective defense from software
patents is a shared responsibility for everyone in the free software
ecosystem." ScriptumLibre feels that the patent system is
fundamentally broken. But even though the system is broken, this does
not mean that companies should be held blameless for abusing that
system.The foundation therefore urges the entire IT community,
including both the proprietary and FOSS communities, to boycott Trend
Micro products.

This documentation need to refer to files residing in BayesianMySql at
SongketMail Project Wiki. This RPM will configure Spamassassin to used
Bayesian with MySql. This document refer to bayesian-mysql version
0.0.1. This version is tested using MySql 5.0.22 and spamassassin 3.1.9.

Simple steps

(1) Copy the tar.bz2 file to /usr/src/redhat/SOURCE
(2) Copy the above spec file to /usr/src/redhat/SPEC and name it
bayesian-mysql.spec
(3) Run rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPEC/bayesian-mysql.spec

You need to install development packages and rpmbuild to build RPM.

This installation is using CentOS 5 as the main Linux Operating
System. Your installation may be different with Red Hat and Fedora.
Opensuse may vary need to get the right RPM name for the packages.

(1) Install Packages needed as per CentOS 5.

spamassassin, mysql, mysql-server, perl-DBI, perl-DBD-MySQL,
perl-Net-Daemon, perl-libwww-perl

or by yum

yum install spamassassin mysql mysql-server perl-DBI perl-DBD-MySQL
perl-Net-Daemon perl-libwww-perl

(2) Start the Mysql Server and create database name bayesianmysql
(login as root)

mysqladmin create bayesianmysql

Assign the user

GRANT ALL ON bayesianmysql.* to bayesianmysql@localhost identified by
'yourpassword1234';

Change the password yourpassword1234 to your own.

(3) Create the tables needed by the database.
