So, this is a bit off in left field, but I figure at least someone in the Sun
Rescue community might be able to help.

Does anyone have sound files (clear and loud) of a Commodore 1541 disk drive
in action? It had a very distinctive sound (I once called it the "AK-47 of
disk drives") and I'd love to get a decent sample of it to add to my weird
ringtone collection.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Devin,

Did you ever find the sounds you were looking for? I did a Google search
out of curiosity and didn't find anything myself. But I did find a few
.sid sound file archives that could be fun to play with.

Remember that people put sound files on YouTube too. A search for
"Commodore 1541" nets loads of interesting hits, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gnMgmlKi_o
