Change Passwd Plugin Broken in version 4.0

Hi ,

I used change passwd plugin to change system passwd in /etc/shadow file. This version seems to be broken. I have raised a Bug Report No. 2904319 against it.

You are suggesting to trim interfaces/admin_interface.php so that it
puts out smaller html files?
If I load the file as a text file in my browser, it loads up fine, so it
doesn't seem to be file size limitation. I have also tried increasing
cache size in firefox, but that did not help either. And just for fun I
did a few google searches on firefox limitations, and other than 33
nested tables and ~65MB file size in the cache, there doesn't really
seem to be any that fit the situation. The issue does seem
characteristic of what is described as an incremental reflow bug,
however the suggested fixes have no apparent effect.
In short, there does not seem to be an immediate workaround, so it would
seem you are correct.

Hello,
Well, it's not too often I can say something good about internet
explorer, but it does not seem to suffer the same limitation as firefox.
At least it does display the contents of
http://computerisms.ca/test.2.html as I expect it should. The missing
calendars are in place and they look normal. Firefox on a windows
machine still throws the same fit.
So, either there is broken html that IE can somehow render, or firefox
has a bug/limitation. Since bug reports are easier to search than code,
I will start there...

Turns out they are a little to big to attach to this mail, so here are links:

contents of test.2 is the html source of the right frame on the production
server, and is what I am referring to here about what I copied. I made it
into a .html file and opened it in my browser, and was able to see the same
symptoms as exist on the live system. Since this file has a <html> and
</html> tag, I expected that I could figure the problem without working on the
production server. I expect if you open the file in your browser, you will
see the same thing. I can provide screen shots if you don't see it.
test3 contains 94 copies of the <form> to </form> stanza. You can see (or
I can at least) that the 94th implementation has changed. if you download the
file and remove one stanza, it will display correctly. If you add more stanzas,
it will continue to get worse.

Apparently any calendar, yes. When I initially started messing around
it was by switching the stanzas around so that the bottom ones which
didn't display were moved up, and then they would display, but the
stanzas that were moved to the bottom would not display, having the same
symptoms. I thought there might be one stanza that had a missing tag or
something like that, or maybe a special character got typed in during data
entry that caused a stanza to be misinterpreted, but I couldn't find such a
problem.
For all I know, that may still be true and I overlooked it, but I don't think so.
After that I started removing random calendars, and the problem went away
after removing 5 or so stanzas. I took roughly the first half of the stanzas and
moved them to the last half of the file and removed the last 5 there too. I
took the bottom calendars, and I took random ones from the list, every time it
seemed related to the total number of calendars.
Then, when I copied the same calendar/stanza 90+ times, it was a random calendar

I have tried this on firefox, epiphany, and galeon. However, I think
these are all mozilla based browsers. I must have a windows machine around
here somewhere so that I can test internet explorer, so I can try that a
little later on to test...

I have restrict_senders set up to not allow an email to be sent out with
more than 25 recipients via Squirrel Mail. One of our customers has

That depends on what restrictions you are referring to. Please be
more specific. Check the README file for information about
$restrictDomains, $restrictSubsequentMassEmailsWhitelist and note that
Login Manager can be used to change the plugin's settings on a per
user basis.

This sounds a little like there might be some input sanitizing
problem, but that's hard to say without seeing the HTML.

It is certainly possible that that's too many form fields for the
browser. A good way to test that is to try different browsers.

If was going to do this, I would do the following...

Use the imap functions to query read/unread counts for your website, and then just script the login, when you click on the messages to bring you over the SM install..

...because of the badly maintained blacklist of the spamfilter. important mails from "clean" senders don't reach my inbox any longer.

This bug occurs when I ...
browse the gui of my webmail administration panel.

each page i access the line "bug [program flaw] is displayed...

The description of the bug:

changes to my settings aren't stored properly.

i activated the spammail-filters, but a lot of important mail from "clean" senders isn't delivered any longer to my inbox, ALTHOUGH i deactivated the spamfilters afterwards..

i changed the way folders are shown in the lefthand foldertree-view an renamed certain default foldernames. thereafter these bug-messages kept appearing...

...not quite sure if that caused the alarm... but close enough to the incident to be worth while considering anyway...

I can reproduce the bug by:

Wouldn't it be better to query directly the IMAP server using IMAP functions
http://www.php.net/manual/en/book.imap.php ?

Squirrelmail integration with php

Hi,
I'm interested how I can integrate squirrel mail with my PHP website. I want to make my PHP website to take the new e-mails from squirrel mail and to show me how many new messages I have in my box. Optionally I want to write a letter and to use squirrel mail to resend my messages to the destination e-mail.
Can you give me advice what I must do to achieve this functionality?

Could you set Thunderbird to send both text and html parts? SquirrelMail
charset conversion does not handle named html entities. Converter is
designed to work with numeric entities created in standard decoding
functions. 1.5.x has needed functions, but I don't use 1.5.x and I don't
remember if fix needs adjustments in html-to-text conversion.

- Amavis-new (Perl) (Different versions between production and test
version). Only as extension filter
- Spampd (Perl) (same version) (Spam Filter)

The bad characters are seeing in screen when press the reply button in

Yes, i have a lot of filters in here. I have:

- Amavis-new (Perl) (Different versions between production and test
version). Only as extension filter
- Spampd (Perl) (same version) (Spam Filter)
- Clamsmtpd (same version) (Antivirus Filter)
- Clamd (same version) (Antivirus).

The bad characters are seeing in screen when press the reply button in
squirrellmail, not when they are sent.

short_open_tag and mbstring.internal_encoding are irrelevant. These settings alone don't create encoding issues. I think other mbstring values are default or very close to default ones. They should not break things.

If you install PHP with MSI installer, PHP is listed in "Add/Remove Programs" control panel and it has "Change" button.

If you don't want to mess with your PHP setup, there is a shorter way. Replace SquirrelMail src/redirect.php script with attached redirect.php file. This file replaces HTTP redirection with HTML meta refresh. Meta refresh works in IIS 5.0 + PHP CGI setups.

If you can't download that file, open src/redirect.php in WordPad, find line with

I've set refresh to 1 second. It is possible that even 0 second refresh will work.

Please note that correct solution is to fix IIS 5.0 and PHP CGI setup. Meta refresh is a hack and not a solution. Other SquirrelMail scripts might need correct session write timing too.

In your setup primary suspects for "you must be logged" are IIS 5.0+PHP CGI and not writable session directory. You already ruled out session directory issues with session test script. You should rule out IIS 5.0 before suspecting fubared PHP session configuration. If IIS 5.0+ PHP ISAPI setup or meta refresh does not fix your issue, then show your PHP configuration.

You said that Thunderbird is set to use ISO8859P1. Thunderbird 2.x does not
have such charset in character set listing. Are you sure that you are using
ISO8859P1 and not ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-15 or Windows-1252. Could you check
Thunderbird email headers and show charset information from Content-Type
headers. If message is multipart, then check Content-Type headers in
text/plain and text/html message parts. Check original Thunderbird email and
not broken forwarded email.
