You write "Next step is to ... merge the Pango and Qt shapers". Does it mean, that pango will be obsolete then? Or just it's shapers (pango modules?). And what about SIL Graphite? I thought, there was a module to bring the SIL Graphite features for fonts that support it. Will this be impossible with the new approach? Thanks for clarifying! All the fc modules: basic-fc, arabic-fc, indic-fc, hebrew-fc ..., will be replaced by a single basic-hb module. Like what we do on win32 and atsui right now. > And what about SIL Graphite? > I thought, there was a module to bring the SIL Graphite features for fonts that > support it. Will this be impossible with the new approach? No: 1) One still can add/install Pango modules, 2) Proper Graphite support will be added to HarfBuzz at some point. behdad > Thanks for clarifying! > P.T. > _______________________________________________ gtk-i18n-list mailing list gtk-i18n-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-i18n-list |

And thank you for referring to m17n in that page. Could you add the fact that the latest Emacs (Ver.23.1; released last month) uses m17n-lib for Complex Text Layout? --- Kenichi Handa handa@... _______________________________________________ gtk-i18n-list mailing list gtk-i18n-list@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-i18n-list |
