Status of XfcHi ...
Can anyone summarize the status of Xfc, I am a bit confused about it :-) I like to start using this library, but I like to know what to expect in regard to development :-) /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

But Xfc 4.3.1 is impressive and makes several people wait (desperately hope) for more !... I suppose the Xfce devs are too busy preparing Xfce-4.4 to care much for Xfc at present. So let's wait until after Xfce-4.4 is released to see if someone competent wishes to take it over. I hope this will happen. Cheers, Sylvain. _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

Do anyone know how many may be using this library, and are there any wish list or wiki, for developers ? > I suppose the Xfce devs are too busy preparing Xfce-4.4 to care much for > Xfc at present. I am looking forward to see what they intent to do, as Jeff F. have been gone for so long (without leaving a note :-)). Well, time to try to write an app or two in Xfc to see how it really works :-) /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

It is a real GOOD piece of work. That would be a good idea, and it is nice to see it together with the Xfce system. /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

Currently nobody has volunteered to do this, but I and other Xfce developers will apply your patches to the xfc SVN tree if requested - so feel free to start working on it and send patches to this list. trac has a bad track record and nearly crashed the xfce server twice, so we don't allow it on the Xfce server. It's not really needed anyway - we already have bugzilla and Xfc should be on there (me or kelnos needs to add it there). In short: you do the work, we get you the resources you need. Even though Jeff formerly "owned" the project, that does not mean that we can't change it ;) Auke _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

Ok, very assuring ... are there any existing bug list ? > trac has a bad track record and nearly crashed the xfce server twice, so we don't allow > it on the Xfce server. I have tried to avoid bugzilla for some time now, but I guess I have to give in now :-) Sorry to hear about your bad experience with trac, it is just so nice and complete to work with. If you are not using trac, are there any plan for a wiki thing at the xfce site ? > In short: you do the work, we get you the resources you need. Re: Status of XfcIts so good to see that XFC is back in the thick of things..
if i understand it right, for now, the main focus is on toehr developers/volunteers stepping to do bug fixes for XFC . and any major design decisions will be discussed here . would i be right in thinking so ? cheers ram On 11/27/06, Bo Lorentsen <bl@...> wrote: Auke Kok wrote: _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

I've asked the bugzilla maintainer to open up an 'xfc' component at 'bugzilla.xfce.org' for this. Meanwhile I'm happy to announce that xfc compile against xfce-4.4rc2, so it should definately be usable as it is right now :) Cheers, Auke _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

Not that there are any filed yet, the Xfc component in bugzilla didn't exist yet. What is the plan for the http://www.xfcewiki.org/ site, beside optimizing it an removing Google sidebar :-) /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |
