Status of altree

Hi,

I think I remember that there was some mail about a licensing issue with
the new version of altree.  Can somebody please give a short status.  I
would like to add this as remark to the entry of our tasks page to keep
a record of the status.

Kind regards

        Andreas.

Hi Andreas,

I have inserted the following comment in the changelog some time ago:

  altree (1.1.0-1) UNRELEASED; urgency=low

There are concerns that 1.1.0 should not be packaged, see:
  http://lists.debian.org/msgid-search/4A8E3073.2060100@...

It is a very good idea to drop a word in the tasks file. Maybe you can add that
on user request we would be most happy to prepare a package for experimental.
(this requires to package new dependancies, that is why I would prefer to
wait for a user request).

Have a nice day,

I added remarks to altree and rasmol which both cause difficulties to
upgrade to recent upstream versions.

BTW, there is a new version of melting (4.3c).  Charles, could you
please verify whether the GUI issue might be solved and we are able to
close the bug.  The Java based verison 5 might last some time and it
would be good to have a working version 4.x IMHO.

Kind regards

      Andreas.
