Still problems with canon a510 and 2.4.7

Im doing a project in local center for contemporary art in
torun/poland, i have tray ed numerous versions of gphoto and many
distros because its really important for me to get the capture working
in free software - i have here few canons a510, one g5 and one is 2s -
on all of them its not possible for me to get gphoto working reliable.

i need your help because im more artist then programmer: i have build
a web front end to present the photos in drupal and make moves out of
that, later on im planing to release the package for other galleries
as free software but how i can do that if i cant get gphoto into
reliable condition ?

now canon a510 did first photo but when i make next one, i get problem
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 349 vs expected 351.

Yes, we have several users of Canon cameras who would have spoken up already :/

The trace is without error, it is probably showing the first run ...
It just is aborted / ctrl-c'ed in the middle.

at night marcus was so kind to build new version for me, witch is
preventing problems with ptp sequence number problems.
i installed it via ./configure && make && sudo checkinstall and ended
with 2 libgphoto2 (one from ppa and one from marcus)  so i made sym
link from /usr/lib/libgphoto2/ to /usr/local/lib/libgphoto2/  (prefix
in gphoto-configure been all ready pointing into /usr/local but its
been still taking version from ppa and not from checkinstall)

Any way after installation and sym link i get "bad parameters" error:

did i installed it right ?

BTW: i fought that i messed up with reinstalling gphoto on my jaunty
desktop so i did fresh install on hardy on other box and did a test:

last night i did that on suse (fresh originally from hp) and head

I guess something went wrong, I just can't see what ... The usb port
is loaded, but not opened correctly :/

Please try to use PTP on those two, the libgphoto2 is very old too.
