Strange broken icons / window close, minimize, maximize buttonsHi,
Many apologies if this has already been answered previously. I have done some research and couldn't find a solution. We are attempting to use icewm on a Freebsd 8.0-Beta2 (64 bit) system and have never used icewm before. When I install the latest version of icewm (whether building from source or installing the latest freebsd port), all icons are broken including minimize, maximize, etc. They appear as strange colours that change when the mouse pointer runs across them (if installed via the Freebsd ports system) or a series of lines. I had a look at the xpm files in the icon directory with a graphics viewer and they seem fine. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance for any help. Re: Strange broken icons / window close, minimize, maximize buttonsHi,
Many thanks for the response. This happens with all of the themes that come with icewm (including the default). I have downloaded a couple of themes from the net, but they have been even worse (black toolbar, etc). Do the current default themes use gradients also? If not, are there any other possible explanations? Sometimes it works...other times it doesn't. There is no other solution I know off. What version of IceWm are you using? Personally I have switched window managers to FluxBox because of this and other problems with IceWm. -- Frank<beacon@...> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Re: Strange broken icons / window close, minimize, maximize buttonsHi Frank,
Thanks for the reply. No gradient line in the win95 theme, unfortunately. I hope we can figure this out. Seems otherwise like a fantastic window manager. I am switching Windows users over to Unix and trying to minimize the "shock". Icewm seems otherwise perfect for our needs. I have attached a snapshot of each to clarify my poor skills at explaining this anomaly. Never got answered and it seems no body has the solution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Extend Task Bar acorss dual monitorsAll,
I have searched and haven't come across an answer. Is there a way to stretch the taskbar across multiple monitors for icewm? Or a way to run dual task bars on a multi monitor system where one task bar only lists the tasks on that monitor and vice versa? Thanks, ...corey ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
