Strange colours on print borderHello,
with current kubuntu 9.10 I have a problem printing borderless on a 10x15cm sheet. Load this photograph of a printout for an example http://hey-you-freaks.de/border.JPG On the printout you can see two times the same part of an image. One was placed in the middle of the sheet and the other next to a border. The one at the border gets brighter at the right and some colors are missing. What is wrong here?! I'm sure it worked before with an older ubuntu release. Printing has been done with GIMP 2.6.7, Gutenprint plugin on an Epson DX4200 model. Gutrenprint version is 5.2.4 Can anybody help? Thanks!! sebastian ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Re: Strange colours on print borderI've reported the same problem with Epson R285, but it's present only
with 5760x2880 res. Some time ago it was fixed for lower resolutions and up to 2880x2880 works fine with R285. Gutrenprint version is 5.2.4 That's at the *bottom* of the page, correct? Can you try this to see if it improves matters? Date: Thu, 05 Nov 2009 12:16:41 +0100 I've reported the same problem with Epson R285, but it's present only with 5760x2880 res. Some time ago it was fixed for lower resolutions and up to 2880x2880 works fine with R285. It may be the same problem, but unfortunately it seems to be tricky to get right in all cases. That output doesn't look like 5760x2880 -- it's too heavily banded for that. Takes really long to print but quality and detail are great. I agree, but mine look very similar, just bands are smaller. It's not problem with color prints, because then I use 2880 res, but to get best black only quality 5760 is needed. Takes really long to print but quality and detail are great. Just last few cm are weird. Perhaps you might want to try the same change (changing Yes to Full in the borderless tag) to model_81.xml? Were you printing borderless or not? -- Robert Krawitz <rlk@...> Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- http://ProgFree.org Project lead for Gutenprint -- http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net "Linux doesn't dictate how I work, I dictate how Linux works." --Eric Crampton ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. OK, I'll try this tonight.
