Hi Stefan, Ivan,*

since updating the logo on the homepage I forwarded this mail to
dev@website (and changed language to English ;-))

no stripes with Firefox (Windows and Fedora 11 - another mail on dev@de)

Did implementation of the 100 Mio logo modify the stylesheet?

Perhaps there is a scaling problem with different display resolutions or
a 1 pixel move between the old and the new header/logo?

Ivan - any idea?

Best regards

Unfortunately I can't view the image - I get a very stretched "site
don't allowed" picture instead.

No, the stylesheet hasn't been modified in many months.

Hmm.. even if there was a 1px difference, it would not cause noticable
stripes...

Unfortunately not.. can anyone else reproduce this (and upload a
screenshot)? The image is encoded as a PNG24, so there shouldn't be a
problem across browsers or platforms. The CSS and HTML are unchanged.

Regards,
Ivan.

I copied it to my homepage:

Perhaps the screenshot gives you an idea...

As Stefan mentioned on the germanophone list, this doesn't happen with
other pages than de.openoffice.org - so perhaps there is something
special with the CSS of the DE homepage?

Stefan - do you have another browser on your Ubuntu system?

Best regards

Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,

It looks like either a rendering bug or a CSS issue - there is a
consistent pattern of top and left borders for certain elements (some
divs and links but not others?). I had a look through the CSS file and
couldn't find any such property - either in main.css or the de.OOo
specific stylesheet. Curiously, the border appears to be transparent,
as the overlap of top and left borders produces a darker pixel at the
top-left corner of the border. Maybe whoever maintains the de site
might have a better idea, but this is very puzzling for me.

Regards,
Ivan.

Hello everybody,

I am sorry but I cannot reproduce this -- yes, I cleared out the cache
of my browser (FFx 3.5.3).

Hi,

thank you folks for investigating this issue.

Sorry, I have to correct and update some important points of my report.

* As I just noticed, when browsing de.openoffice.org, I had my
Firefox set to View|Zoom|ZooOut a little. The stripes do not appear
when I reset the Zoom.

* Being aware of this, I do no longer suspect this to be related to
the introduction of the 100 Mio logo.

* When Zoom is set to ZoomOut I see this defect on *all* pages of
openoffice.org, not only on de.openoffice.org.

* However, I only reproduce these stripes on my Ubuntu Laptop with
Firefox 3.0.15. I do not reproduce them on my Ubuntu Home Computer,
with Firefox 3.0.15. I do not reproduce them on my Windows 2000
machine in the office with Firefox 3.5.x.

Taking into account these points, I consider the hole problem to be
of very low importance.

Nevermind. Thanks anyway!

Stefan
