To my knowledge you need the JCE for unlimeted encryption strength.

I am using StrongTextEncryptor and it throws a
EncryptionNotPossibleException. It works with BasicTextEncryptor. I am using
the default JCE with JDK 1.4.2. Is PBEwithMD5andTripleDES not supported by
the default JCE? Would appreciate a clarification. Thanks in advance.
