Suggestions for CSSC student projects in Google Summer of Code?

The GNU Project is participating in the Google Sumer of Code
intiiative.  See http://code.google.com/soc/ for more details, if you
are not already familiar with it.

One obvious task that's probably of the right length would be to
properly implement ignored and excluded deltas.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions for work that could be done on CSSC?
