Hello,

I am a developer creating an embedded systems media device.  A key part of it
is displaying text (fonts) on a standard NTSC screen.  PAL would be nice, but
I'm focusing on NTSC first.

I have complete control of the color of each display pixel.

Based on research so far, it is not too clear on what to do?  Is there an algorithm
to process a given font to make it more readable on a TV?  Or, are there especially
purposed for TV?

There are some commercial packages out there, but they are too expensive
on a purchase and royalty basis.

Apologies for either asking a silly question or an impossible one, I am new to font
technology.

Thanks,
Tim

Cinecav is royalty-free, though I don't know the licensing fee:
