Sun MySQL driver (SDBC)

I'm very excited about the new MySQL SDBC driver Beta 1. I tried in a
Base application <http://freshmeat.net/projects/mypatients> and it worked without a glitch. As the wiki says, the driver has 2 bugs in windows. My question is if it safe to use it in a production environment already. I run GNU/Linux and windows bugs doesn't concern me at all. I'm looking forward for the final release.
