Svnkit downgrade not possible?

Hi,

I have checked out a working copy using svnkit-1_2_3_5521.

To test the new svnkit version (svnkit-1_3_0_5847) I downloaded it and ran a "status" and an "upgrade" in my working copy. All looked very good.

When I changed back to my original svnkit-1_2_3_5521 things stopped working. I got the following message:

$ jsvn status
svn: warning: '.' is not a working copy
$

The update and status commands work fine under the new svnkit, but not under the old. I am assuming that this is due to some kind of backward incompatibility which was introduced with the new version?

That is OK, but it would be better if the error message could say something like:
svn: warning: svnkit version is too old.

My platform is OpenVMS, the remote svn version is 1.4, Java is 1.5

Thanks for a very useful product.
