Sync engine

Ah, you're using the packages in the ubuntu archive itself. I would strongly recommend adding the synce ppa to your package sources and upgrading, I honestly don't know how the main archive packages are set up. If you would rather stick with the older ones, see if there is a file called /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.synce.SyncEngine.service I am a bit green when it comes to some of the techo stuff, so may need a bit more detail in the explanations - for this I apologise. However l have in my software sources added http://ppa.lauchpad.net/synce/ubuntu karmic main and http://ppa.lauchpad.net/synce/ubuntu karmic main source code. Whenever I open terminal and input the command "synce-sync-engine" and then connect my Htc touch diamond, my phone is recognised and synchronises perfectly - every time and continues to do so while the terminal remains open. The moment I close the terminal, the connection is terminated and I am no longer able to sync. All I really want to know is how do I get the sync engine to start without opening the terminal, and then have it stay open for the duration of the connection. It should be possible - it did it before. Thanks for any help
