Job Summary: The System Administrator will be responsible for advanced system administration across multiple Unix-based (Linux/FreeBSD) OS platforms. Activities to include system selection, inventory, configuration, compliance, and maintenance. This position also has on-call requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Install, configure, and maintain Linux/FreeBSD-based operating systems.
* Deploy security and other pertinent system patches on a regular basis.
* Install and connect x86 systems in a data center environment.
* Tune and analyze systems for optimal performance.
* Develop, deploy, execute and maintain system shell scripts.
* Mentor and support fellow team members.
* Participate actively in an Agile environment.
Qualifications and minimum requirements:
* Experience managing and maintaining RedHat Linux/FreeBSD-based operating systems.
* Experience configuring and managing x86 systems.
* Experience with Open Source applications.
* Experience testing web based applications.
* Experience communicating effectively with stakeholders in the development life cycle.
* Ability to work in a team environment yet be self directed, proactive, and action oriented .
* Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
* Good verbal, written and organizational skills.
* Experience using a ticketing system.
* 4+ years experience as a system administrator.
Additional skillsets desired:
* Experience with Windows Server.
* Experience with authentication technologies (LDAP, SecurID, and pre-shared keys).
* Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
* Experience with Apache Tomcat is a plus.
* Experience with MySQL.
* Experience with Java.
* Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches.
