Talk at the WCIHey guys,
just wanted to drop a line about a talk I am giving at the WCI conference in Berlin (http://inka.f4.htw-berlin.de/wci/) The past few months we have been working on an Open Source RFID Middleware and we are about to release the whole thing. I took my experience that we gathered with our pilot projects and seeing how other people handled RFID and sensor networks and wrapped it up into a talk (just an introduction on the topic and how awesome CEP/Esper is). I'd like to thank the whole Esper team and list for answering my stupid questions and for creating an awesome product :) CU Jochen -- Jochen Mader - Technical Lead Pramari Europe GmbH Bruderwöhrdstrasse 15b 93055 Regensburg p: +49 941 604889 - 701 f: +49 941 604889 - 700 jochen@... http://www.pramari.com Amtsgericht Regensburg HRB 11343 Geschäftsführer Andreas Hübner --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, please visit: http://xircles.codehaus.org/manage_email |

Re: Talk at the WCIThat is great.
Is there any public link where we can read more about your use of Esper in your RFID edge server that would help everyone already understand Esper value add? Thanks On Wed, Sep 2, 2009 at 11:07 AM, Jochen Mader <jochen@...> wrote: Hey guys, |

Re: Talk at the WCII will post my paper after the conference.
Details for the edge server will be available within the next weeks as we are preparing for the public release. But I can sum up few quick things: - We are using esper for analyzing RFID events and we use it to smooth out imperfections (tags disappearing for a moment, some wonky reads you get because of reflections, speed data using RSSI) - We are also using it for the classic scenario of extracting business events from low level sensor events - We are running it on a singlecore atom with 1 GB of RAM which makes it possible to consume the maximum of possible reads from a reader as we are able to mount this thing right between the readers So far we are really impressed how well we can handle all these things by at the same time reducing the hardware requirements to the bare minimum.
