Description: When call getPort(new
QName("http://tempuri.org/","CustomBinding_IEcho4")) method on
javax.xml.ws.Service with the client stub generated with Microsoft RPS 1.1
testing WSDL
file(http://131.107.153.201/RSP_PositiveScenarios_Service_Indigo/RequestReply.svc?wsdl),
there is NullPointException thrown. The call stack is as follow:

It seems it is caused by the Ws11 policy defined in WSDL file::
<sp:Wss11>
<wsp:Policy/>
</sp:Wss11>

Reproducing Steps:
1. Generate client stub with the WSDL file
(http://131.107.153.201/RSP_PositiveScenarios_Service_Indigo/RequestReply.svc?wsdl);
2. Configure the wsit-client.xml to include the keystore/truststore information
for the port of "CustomBinding_IECHO4";
3. Write the client code to make call on the port of "CustomBinding_IECHO4":
EchoService service = new EchoService(new
URL("http://131.107.153.201/RSP_PositiveScenarios_Service_Indigo/RequestReply.svc?wsdl"));
IEcho echoPort = Service.getPort(new
QName("http://temuri.org/","CustomBinding_IEcho4"));
4. Launch the client.

Please notes, the xsd reference in MS's wsdl file is using hostname instead of
real IP address. It may need change it to the real IP address(131.107.153.201).

I just ran into the exception

com.sun.xml.wss.XWSSecurityException: Unsupported Key Binding:UsernameTokenBinding::

when trying to digitally sign a message. My configuration is using UsernameToken
as a ProtectionToken for a SymmetricBinding, which I understand should be supported.

I will attach the relevant WSDL policy, and a stack trace, if I can.

I just read the docs, and it's language is just a little bit incomprehensible..
This sentence:
"The attesting entity includes a signature that can be verified with the key
information in the confirmation method of the subject statements of the SAML
assertion referenced for key info for the signature."
took me hours to interpret (and I'm still not sure what this really meant to be
mean)...
Could you rewrite this section? It has key part in understanding the security
mechanisms, but if I (or anyone else in that matter) can't understand what these
are, it just makes so much questions. If you would clarify these mechanisms, it
would be great.

Todays download is working fine and bringing back the status as it was on Metro
1.5, so concerning the regression this issue can be confirmed.

I noticed there are two additional issues in the SAML Sender-Vouches
implementation. They're not critical to me, but I just want to mention them.

1) C14N of the SAML Assertion
According to the WS Security specification [0], line 1058 ff., an empty default
namespace must be included in the C14N unless the SAML assertion is in the
default namespace. As the SAML assertion has the prefix saml:, the C14N value
is not correct.
(Yes, I know: the WSS-spec is making it very difficult to implement this
correctly)
2) When signing the SAML assertion using the STR-Transform, Metro is using two
transforms. First is the STR-Transform, second is the C14N-exclusive transform.
As the result of the first transform is already an octet-stream, I do not
understand the purpose of the second transform. Metro is seems to be the only
implementation using two transforms in there.

The issue has been fixed on the main trunk. Please verify the fix with the next
nightly build of Metro (Nov 20, 2009) that will be available at:
https://metro.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?expandFolder=7638&folderID=10314

Alternatively, you can manually build Metro from latest main trunk sources and
verify the fix using that build.

Please note that - as I wrote earlier today - we are already in hard code freeze
mode for Metro 2.0. I am going to try to get an approval to put the fix into
Metro 2.0 branch, but I don't give it much chance without a proper customer
support escalation. I am sorry :(

I understand your disappointment, yet I am afraid that we are now starting to
mix different issues together. In case you see an issue with GlassFish and it's
general class loading mechanism, please kindly open a new issue against
GlassFish at the following URL:

As for fixing custom tube issue ASAP, you should know that custom tubes is
currently an experimental and not officially supported feature. As such, any bug
affecting this feature is considered to be a low priority. I really do want to
have the bug fixed and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible, however you
should understand that we are very close to releasing Metro 2.0 and I have many
other tasks on my plate. The time I can spend on fixing low priority bugs is
somewhat limited right now. Therefore I kindly ask you for more patience.

If any of the issues discussed here is critical for your business, you should
escalate it via your GlassFish support contract in case you have one. That would
guarantee you that your issues get the highest possible priority and attention.
In case you don't have a support contract and you consider obtaining one, please

I ask you to fix it ASAP. Because using <classloader delegate="false"/> in
sun-web.xml causes a lot of problems.

For example, our server is not only an endpoint side. It also is a client for
other web services (some bridge). But calling a service from the web app
deployed under GF with not delegated classloader causes an exception
com.sun.xml.ws.util.ServiceConfigurationError:
com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.TransportPipeFactory: Provider
com.sun.enterprise.jbi.serviceengine.JBITransportPipeFactory is specified in
jar:file:/op
t2/glassfish-test/lib/appserv-rt.jar!/META-INF/services/com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.TransportPipeFactory
but could not be instantiated: java.lang.ClassCastException

I see the reason is that com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.TransportPipeFactory class is
loaded from local webservices-rt.jar (WEB-INF/lib) and
com.sun.enterprise.jbi.serviceengine.JBITransportPipeFactory has another
classloader (loaded from AS_HOME/lib), so it causes a class cast exception.

So I see two possible solutions now: pack all GF libraries containing something
in META-INF/services to my WAR or stop using metro.

Please note that we are not releasing updates to 1.5 currently,may be in future
release this fix is available.
It's been fixed in 2.0 ,so please switch to 2.0 once it is availble.

Fixed in JAX-WS 2.2. Please try with latest Metro 2.0 nightly.

I verified with my sample on V2 and V3 and it works.
